Christian Sisters Biographies
Sonja Houston, CSO Founder/President
Sonja Houston is the founder and President of the Christian Sisters Organization. She has been employed by Special school district for over 18 years. She has a bachelors degree in Special Education from UM- St. Louis and a Masters degree in Administration/ Education from Maryville University. She has been in Who’s who among teachers in 2003-2004 and 2004-2005. In her spare time she coordinates the Christian sister’s organization and works in ministry at her church Believers Temple Word Fellowship. She also enjoys reading, scrapbooking, traveling and board games. She is mother to four children. Sonja’s purpose in life is to touch the lives of young ladies and guide them in the direction God intended for them.
SonJoria Sydnor, CSO Vice President/ Mentor
SonJoria Sydnor is the Vice President of Christian Sisters Organization. She has been employed by Special School District for 3 years. She has completed her bachelors in Social Work and is scheduled for graduation in December 2008. SonJoria is currently working on opening Vision of Virtue Family Prep Center, a home for teenage mothers. She works as secretary of the door greeter’s ministry at her church Believers Temple Word Fellowship. SonJoria is also a member of Alpha Theta Omega Christian Sorority Incorporated. She is married to Jauron Sydnor, of whom she enjoys spending her spare time with traveling, camping, and trying new things. SonJoria's purpose is to help people in need whether through ministering, advocacy or lending open arms and ears.  Karen Wright, CSO Secretary/ Mentor
Karen Wright has a bachelors as well as a master’s degree in Speech- Language pathology. Karen has worked for Special School District for 5 and a half years. Karen is a praise dancer at her home church New birth Church as she is involved with many other activities and departments. In her spare time, she likes to read, write, draw, paint, travel, spend time with close family and friends, go to the park, museums, and watch movies just to name a few things. Karen is now a full-time Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant, Leisure Travel Consultant and is in the process of launching a new company by the name of Creative Thoughts in Motion. Karen’s purpose in life is to help hurting women to heal and see their own value as daughters of God as they learn to live the abundant life Christ came to give us. Karen D. Spencer, CSO Mentor
Karen D. Spencer is the wife of Larry E. Spencer; they have one son Nicholas P. Spencer. The Spencer family are members of Bethesda Temple Church of the Apostolic Faith where Bishop James A. Johnson, D.D. is their pastor. Karen has written a book titled, “And God Said Just Walk”. It is her autobiography of how she was sick for twenty-one years and had seven incurable diseases. She is the founder of Just Walk Ministry. Karen is the host of her weekly radio broadcast Walking by Faith which can be heard on 690 AM KSTL and streaming online at www.690kstl.com. Earline A. Helm is an educator, having taught in both Kansas City and St. Louis, Missouri. She has earned degrees from the University of Missouri- Columbia and from the University of Missouri- Kansas City. Earline is a member of Pi Lambda Theta International Honor Society and Professional Association in Education. She was awarded “Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers” in 2005-2006. She is currently the President of the board of directors for the “Community Hope Project” an organization that provides lifelong work for the disadvantaged and needy population in the St. Louis region. She serves on the fellowship committee at her church praying souls to be saved. Earline is fulfilling God’s purpose and call on her life by reaching as many people as possible for Jesus Christ.
Michelle Cotton, CSO Mentor
Michelle Cotton is one of the first Christian Sisters Organization members. She holds a bachelors as well as a master’s degree in education. She taught middle school students for 22 years. She is currently working as a central office district coordinator of Education for Normandy school district. Michelle loves to have fun with her Christian sisters. Her hobbies include reading, walking on cool summer days, playing board games, going to the movies, dining out and being a participant in book study groups. Michelle has 2 brothers, 1 biological sister and many “Christian Sisters”. Michelle’s goal and purpose in life is to help, comfort and bring healing to others.
Vivian Johnson, CSO Mentor
Vivian D Johnson is an author who graduated from California State University at Fullerton’s College of Communication in Journalism. She worked for several local newspapers as a reporter and now enjoys teaching writing to high school and middle school students. She is currently working on her doctorate in education and many writing projects. Vivian’s purpose is to serve God through impacting the lives of others with the message of salvation.
Mia Caldwell, CSO Mentor
Mia Caldwell is an open heart recovery ICU nurse. She loves to use the talents Jesus gave to her by caring for and healing people. She volunteered at a church food pantry as well as community teaching of health and disease processes until the programs ended. Mia recently planned a community health and wellness fair for her church Greater Grace where she serves as the president of the usher board. Mia is recently engaged. Her Fiancé shares her love for God and helping people. The wedding is scheduled for 2009. Proudly she will be stepmother of two children. Mia’s plans include completing her master’s degree in nurse anesthesia to help fund her purpose in life of community nursing and outreach to the less fortunate and support the healing and education ministries.
